At last, a road trip..

Finally going to be able to use my CF Autosleeper for what it was ment for, a road trip. Heading off at the weekend for two weeks touring the Highlands of Scotland.
Got the van last year, had a weekened away, loved it, but the wife wanted to change the carpet tiles in the back. Short version, lifted thetiles and the whole of the floor came with it, everything taken out apart from drivers seat. New ply down, units fixed and back in and starting to look nice.
Off up to Cullen then Inverness,Ullappol and then wherever the nose points. Just want to say thanks to everyone on the site who has helped with any problems I have had and thanks to Rae for a loan of some parts. Hopefully won't need to log in for a couple of weeks but will wait and see.....
Thanks again, oh, and does anyone have any recommendations on places to go?

Thanks Ally and Hayley

Hello Ally & Hayley,
That's the best news I've heard for a long time, just go out there and enjoy yourself.
Ann & myself frequently wild camp and, let's face it, we're in the lap of the gods when it comes to open roads and beautiful scenery.
Enjoy

Midges.

Hi Ally1314,

Glad to hear you are on the road, eat plenty garlic and the midges will leave you alone, even on Skye.

We prefer the sociable approach....Avon, Skin So Soft body oil. Mind you, garlic does keep the vampires away and their bite's a lot worse

Not sure about the Avon, but certainly gave the garlic and Guinness a go, well mainly the Guinness!!!
Had a fantastic 12 days in the CF, weather ok, managed about seven BBQs out the back of it, although on one did wish I had a brolly!
Visited Cullen, Inverness, Ullapool, Clachtoll and Gairloch with a few stops inbetween. A great trip, a fair few comments on the van. One boy we were chatting to who used to work on them, came back a hour later with some fish he had just caught. Two mackeral and a pollock for the BBQ, lovely.
And the van went like a dream, had planned coming back with the AA to save on fuel, but had no problems with the old girl. The wife was probably more troublesome!! Sorry Haylz....
A wonderfull holiday in a beautiful part of the world.
Thanks Ally & Hayley

Congratulations Ally & Hayley.
Quite envious, lovely part of the world, sometimes a tad windy round the Ullapool area. When we had our first Bedford, we headed in that direction and like yourselves, we had no idea if we were going to return on our own steam. I do believe that a tyre blew out as I was heading up to Ullapool so we had to head off to Inverness to get it changed but still we managed to get home (good times).
