I'm after some advice on a radiator for my van I've just bought. It's a Bedford CF, with a 3.3ltr Red Holden 202 Engine in it, but the radiator it currently has is for a 2.5ltr. We were wondering why it kept on overheating in traffic, so after we had a new waterpump fitted (which we had to import from Australia!) we were told that we'd need a new radiator with an electric fan to help with the cooling of the engine. I'm hoping that radiators are reasonably generic, in so much as we won't need to import a Holden specific part..? Can anyone please advise me on what type of radiator I'd need (with fan) for this type of engine? Any info would be gratefully accepted. Thanks, Jon ---------------------- |

Assuming that the radiator is original, it's more likely that the core is choked with sediment but it could have the wrong core as well; adding an electric fan might compensate for this. Best fix will be to have a new core for a diesel model (increased cooling capacity) fitted by a radiator repair specialist. ---------------------- |

Thanks for that Phil, I've got it booked in to get quotes from 4 separate radiator specialists tomorrow - maybe after it's fixed I'll be able to operate the pedals without my feet melting from the constant stream of hot air being chucked out of the engine! )
