It's a shame she's selling it but at least there's one good thing to come out of this, 'Char Lotte's cooked engine' makes very interesting reading.

Is it definitely hers? I hadn't realized it was in such good shape inside...

Well, apart from the obvious financial, non-financial and even moral issues that arise from this, there's still a positive side (apart from the awesome thread): The CF is still on the road, and not scrapped. Hopefully it will be picked up by a life-long Beddie addict who will also join us here.

Char, I hadn't realized you were planning on living in it.. Ever been a vehicle-dweller before or would this be your first attempt? So what happened there then? How come did you decide to keep on paying bills and council tax?

Yep it's Char's, pity i can't afford it, also noticed that the South Africa import is back up on ebay nice looking, but hey further down the list you get a pickup @ 4k,
don't go for Bedford CF when looking on ebay, just go for Bedford, surprising what turns up

If I didn't love my van so much and had a bit of money then I think I would go for it - just the size for us. But I hope it goes to a genuine Beddy lover who will maintain the great work and effort that has gone into it.

Char's very young and probably didn't realise what costs she would have to incur, especially like me when it all went horribly wrong. Mine has cost me approx £6,000 so far and all for the pleasure of driving for 20 miles !!
If it hadn't been for your support and the wonderful Mr Bradshaw I think I would have given up. I can't wait to get the old girl on the road, hopefully soon.
Phils dedication and not to mention the vast amount of his time would make me feel I had let him down if I sold mine once it was finished.
Everyone is different and we can all get carried away when purchasing what we think will be great, but sadly sometimes it doesn't work out for whatever reason.
My van had LPG before it was mutilated by putting in the diesel engine, I didn't realise that the mpg was so low.

Charlotte seemed so keen. I hope she is confident enough to buy another in a few years time. Its sad it all went so wrong for her. At least the CF was saved. I have had heartache too. I just didnt learn from it! Big hug to all who have had tragedy too!

Once there was some fresh petrol in the tank & I'd done the final adjustments it ran sweet & started on gas as easily as on petrol when warm. I just hope the engine doesn't get thrashed before the new rings have had time to bed in properly...
