start up hi all, while the key is in the starter motor position there are no volts on the coil,as soon as I release the key back to the run position the volts return to the coil.this has just started to happen,so if the engine is not turning enough starting is hard.Do you think I should try a new switched wire?---------------------- |

Hello. Check on the column ignition switch that your not loosing the voltage as the switch itself would be my first port of call for the problem your describing. Turning the key slowly till the engine starts cranking may show if the contacts in the switch are worn when the key is held fully clockwise. If ok on the back of the switch then start checking the wiring Andy ---------------------- |

Hello. An alternative would be to fit a start push button wired between the ignition live feed out of the switch and the wire to the starter from the switch. You would turn on the ignition to get dash lights and then press the button. You could say it was a anti theft device as anyone trying to steal it would be cranking the engine using a key (or possibly a screwdriver but my banger racing days are over) Andy ---------------------- |

ignition switch Hi all,it took a lot of stress but I have managed to get the switch working,The worst part was getting the ball bearing to stay on top of the spring whilst putting it all together. It seens ok but I will have the extra switch ready just incase.C heers,Jim.---------------------- |
