FOR SALE  Tuesday 28th Oct 2014 at 13:49

We are reluctantly selling our beloved old Bedford camper. br br We have just had the trip of a lifetime in this van and as you can see from the pictures, she has seen some amazing cities and sites. We drove through France, west coast of Italy, Sicily, Sardinia, Corsica, back into France, Monaco (around the grand prix circuit - not setting any lap times there!), along the southern coast of France into Spain, Gibraltar, up through Portugal, northern Spain and then back up the west coast of France. br br My family, including twin daughters lived in this travelling around Europe for nearly 6 months... so if you're looking for the perfect ready to go camper, look no further. br br She looks great for her age and is a real head turner and talking point, even next to some of the more exotic and over the top motor homes in Euro campsites. br br br From experience, and from talking to folk with VW campers, the Bedford certainly has a lot more room with it's galley layout. Remarkably spacious, even more so once the kids are in bed! The roof pops up to give extra head height whilst you're parked and then 2 hammock style beds roll out in the top. br br br Before we left on our trip we had her completely serviced throughout. I also had her serviced mid way through the trip in southern Spain, and she has just had points, plugs, condensor & coil renewed now that she's home to prep her for sale. br br br Overall the work that was done within the last 6 months is as follows br brNew points br brNew plugs br brNew condensor br brNew coil br brNew rear seat belts fitted br brNew rear seat covers & matching curtains. Front seats still have their original material as I ran out of time before travels. br brNew LED light in the back br brNew black & white chequered flooring br brNew tap & water pump & filter for the sink br brNew windscreen (following a motorway incident with a stone in Spain - was certainly fun getting a Bedford CF screen out to Spain!) br brNew front balljoints br brRocker cover gasket replaced br brRear diff seal replaced & diff oil br brNew oil filter. br brNew horn. br br brThere is no radio fitted but all the wires with universal plugs are in place to just slot one in. br brCigarette lighter works fine to power 12v sat nav, charge phone etc. br br brShe has certainly had quite a few hundred pounds spent to get her prepped for our trip and is still running beautifully. br brThere is a leisure battery fitted to power all interior lights etc. There is also an electrical hook up for when you're on a campsite with electricity. br br Everything on the inside is working well - fridge (gas powered), 2 ring cooking hob and grill, 2 interior lights, sink & tap. I also fitted a secondary filter for your water supply. br brThe water tank is underneath the van and carries enough water to keep 4 of you going for about 3 days...obviously a lot longer if there are just 2 of you. br brWe had rear seat belts fitted as we were travelling with the kiddies so wanted to strap forward facing car seats in. br brThe rear seats can be arranged to be facing forwards as well as sideways. Obviously for safety you want to be facing forwards whilst travelling. br brThere is loads of storage in the van. In fact when we were packing up for 6 months we were truly surprised how much we could actually fit in. br brIt drives well and will cruise at 60mph, probably more if you want to push it... but I'm never in that much of a rush to get to the next stop off point or campsite! br br brOnto the bad points of the van - I like to be as honest as possible... br brThere are some rust and knocks on the body work but to be honest nothing too major. The worst of the rust is around the guttering as you can see from the pics and also around the front doors, particularly at the bottom of the doors on the inside. The van has had some body work done in the past around the wheel arches and also new rear doors. If I was going to keep her then I'd spend some time getting her super tidy in the other areas too. The van is over 30 years old though so some rust is to be expected. This is by no means a perfect concourse condition vehicle, this is not what I wanted from a van. As you can see form the pics the bad bits of rust on the doors are on the inside, so not much is visible from the outside. br brThere is a slight oil leak underneath... again though I haven't seen one of these that doesn't leak a little bit. br brThe driver side window regulator needs replacing. These are available on eBay for about 20. The window does wind up but struggles to hold at the top. br brThe main beams work when the lights are on, but will not flash your headlights when the lights are off. Could be just a faulty connection on the stalk, but hasn't been an issue for me whilst driving as all lights & indicators work as they should. br br brShe is taxed until the end of January 2015 & MOT'd until Feb 2015. br brThere is some service history but not a lot. br br brThis is a factory fit camper. Everything is pretty much original which means that the van hasn't been messed about with or converted from a panel van like a lot of campers these days. br brComes with some spare bulbs, belts and other small spare parts - always good to have with you. br brI replaced the lock barrels so that one key fits all door locks. There are a few spare keys and also another spare barrel too. br br brI will upload some more pics over the next day or so. br brViewing is welcome anytime at all. br brWe'll be sorry to see her go so please give her a good home! br br brAny questions at all, please ask away... br brOffers around 2500 considered. br brCash on collection from Cheltenham.

Bedford CF 2068cc Diesel 1980 Campervan for sale. This is an ongoing project and unfortunately my mechanic has vanished. It does not have an MOT and is not taxed. However, it does have new clutch fitted and we were in the process of sorting out the head gasket (I have the head gasket kit). I have been told that everything needed to get it working is there, it just needs to be fitted back together. I no longer have the time (or mechanic) to get this on the road so I am open to offers.
